Your Medical Travel Handbook

A living handbook for every stage of medical travel to Türkiye — from applying for a visa to aftercare back home. Written by our coordinators, reviewed by Turkish specialists and updated monthly.

Step 1

Visa & documents

Most international visitors can enter Türkiye with an e-Visa in minutes. Patients from visa-required countries may apply for a Medical Treatment Visa with an invitation letter from the hospital.

Your Clinic Advise coordinator prepares all paperwork on your behalf — including the hospital invitation letter, treatment schedule and translated medical history.

Do I need a visa to enter Türkiye?

It depends on your passport. Citizens of more than 80 countries — including the US, UK, most EU states, UAE, Saudi Arabia — can enter with a simple e-Visa obtained online in under 5 minutes. Citizens of other countries may require a consulate visa, which we help arrange.

What is a Medical Treatment Visa?

A single-entry or multiple-entry visa for patients receiving treatment in Türkiye. It typically allows 90–180 days of stay. Required paperwork includes an invitation letter from an accredited hospital and a treatment plan.

What documents should I bring?

Passport (valid 6+ months), printed e-Visa or consulate visa, return ticket, proof of accommodation, medical records translated into English, photo ID for your companion, and any recent imaging (MRI, CT, X-rays) if relevant.

Can a family member travel with me?

Yes. Companions can travel on a standard tourist visa. Many clinics offer an extra guest bed in patient rooms, and we arrange family-friendly hotels near your clinic.
